We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Motor Mechanic/Garage Manager for our client, to join their small, independent, very busy garage. This role involves taking on motor mechanic duties and stepping up as Garage Manager for the owner, when necessary. We offer a competitive salary that is negotiable based on your experience, within a supportive and close-knit team. The owner values work-life balance, offering early finishes on Fridays and no weekend work.

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform routine vehicle checks and repairs

· When necessary, give quotes and timescales for jobs

· Organising bookings

· Complete and check work done is to a high quality

· Discussing work with customers and giving advice, keep them updated

· Checking stock and ordering parts and equipment

· Supervising a small team of vehicle mechanics and electricians

Qualifications and Experience:

· A minimum of 4 years’ experience as a motor mechanic
· A strong understanding of vehicle systems and mechanics.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, methodical and a detail-oriented mindset.

Additional Skills – an advantage not essential:

· Supervisory / assistant experience
· MOT Tester qualification, training would be offered for the right candidate.

Details

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8am – 5:30pm. Fridays 8am – 3pm. No weekend work.

Salary: Competitive salary based on skill and experience.

Location: Wakefield

Holidays: 20 Days + 8 Statutory Holiday days. Closed over Christmas.
